*Camus John S15 I / CPBS 103article
13.2h dun stallion, born 1953

Camus John has fifty registered progeny, and at least seven of them were inbreeding: Camus John back to his own sons and daughters. This is not a favored practice and, I believe in part because of the flak it generated, the gentleman responsible for this breeding is no longer active in the connemara breeding circle in the US. However -- he was no fool, because the bloodlines he concentrated produced no anomalies or problems, and Oak Hill ponies are EXCELLENT. A son of Camus John who is often seen in US pedigrees is Camus John's Gladiator, the result of Camus John back to his daughter Oakhills Nancy Jane. Camus John's Gladiator was a gorgeous animal. Get yourself a copy of Pat Lyne's books from the Connemara Country Store on the ACPS website where you find this bulletin board -- his picture is on p. 104.
