Sky and Iriel getting to know each other

Iriel just off the trailer after a long trip from FL, here with her new rider (April 2021)

Poster that Sky made for the Mock Show Jumping Rally that had to be cancelled because of stormy weather:

During our trip to FL to try out a new pony for Sky, she had the chance to stop by Elderglen Connemaras to say hello to the Connemara stallion and 2020 Breyer model, W.H. Topgun

We also had a chance to stop by the new World Equestrian Center in Ocala. Sky said that she is going to show there some day.

Sky practicing for the show season by wearing her full turn-out attire (except the boots), riding the not-so-clean Connemara mare, Ledgewood's Greystone Desiree. It's a cold first day of spring in East Tennessee...too cold for baths, anyway. I don't know how we'll get Queen (fluffy grey) clean for mock rally next weekend! (Mar-2021)

Well Ness finally took her to the Battlefield!! Sky rode Keavey and we had a great time!

Sky has recently discovered the fun of bareback riding. Here she is on Desi (Dec 2020)

Sky and Queen concluded their show year at the 11/21 show in McMinn County. They placed in all of their classes and Queen won the SMHSS Unicorn HOTY Award!

Sky watching her first cross-country event in person. This was the 2020 River Glen Fall HT, there to cheer on Seaborne's Maritime!

Sky earned her D1 rating on October 31 and rode in a clinic with Cherie Gaebel, riding Queen. This was her first time cantering (on purpose!)

She also diplayed her beautiful work of art in the costume class going as a pair of Queens (The Queen of hearts and the Queen of clubs [clovers!])

Sky joined the Chattanooga Pony Club in September 2020. Her first outing was a Richard Lamb clinic (Sept 19-20, 2020) at Hunter's Ridge Farm in Ooltewah, TN, riding Foothills River Queen

(FB post) Vanessa Morgan is feeling blessed with Shanna Rose and 2 others at Mcminn County Expo Center, Athens, TN. The judge was AshleyJenkins.

I'm so proud of my granddaughter, Sky, who rode Foothills River Queen in her first horse show (not on a lead line)!). It was the Smoky Mountain Horse Show Series (SMHSS) this one held at the McMinn County Park. She rode exceptionally well, using all the skills she has worked on practiced so hard, and also was super organized. I announced for the show part time, so I gave her the list of classes that she was entered in, and she made sure to get tacked up and into the arena on time, memorized her showmanship pattern and groundrail courses, and knew what was required in each class, mostly on her own! Super proud of number 99!!!!

SMHSS 6/27/20 Placings:
Youth/Junior Handler Showmanship - 6th
Youth/Junior Groundrail Hunter - 4th
Youth/Junior Groundrail Equitation O/F - 6th
Youth/Junior Hunter Under Saddle W/T - 6th
First Year Showing W/T - 2nd

2016

Great time at the Hideaway Farm show last weekend (5/7/16). Sky was in her first ever show! She was 1st in lead-line and 4th in walk-only (by herself in the ring). We learned that she needs to practice asking her pony to back up and also how to circle to move away from slower horses in front of her. Lou earned 4th in walk ground rails and trot ground rails. They both rode Balmullo's Beacon:-)
