I am so pleased to announce the arrival of my two newest Connemaras! Meet Duet Farms First Love (Anya), and DF I Love Lucy; they are full sisters by Duet Farms One Love (Marley), out of Duet Farms Cailin Dobh. Many thanks to their breeder, Annie Balotti-Paleen, for letting them join my herd as future breeders of Foothills Connemara ponies, and to Amy S. Burkemper for delivering them yesterday. They are pictured here in a cool December rain, their first day on our farm (Anya, 2020 model, on the left and Lucy, 2021 model, on the right). I am totally blessed to be their new owner and am so excited to see what our futures hold together.

We were sad to say "So Long" to the sweetest pony, Iriel, when she returned to Florida. She was an awesome festival ride for Sky and we will cherish the time that she spent with us in Tennessee and are forever grateful to Ginger and Marie. (11/30/21)

Charlie and I were pleased to host 11 ponies, 8 guests, plus 3 Inspectors and extra help from Sky and Megahn.

2021 ACPS Region IV Show at Foxboro Farm - September 11 and 12, 2021
What a wonderfully memorable ACPS Region IV show!
Thank you to our Regional Chair, Kim Gates and Chef Martin, Bay of Plenty's Elli Niezen and Michael, Foxboro Farm venue hosts Epp and Judith Wilson, Connemara judge Maureen Loughman, silent auction coordinator Boots Plyler, treasured trophy maker Alicia Daily, tireless Treasurer Stephanie Swerdloff Fenton Hickey and EVERYONE who participated in any way!!!!! It was such a blessing to be there, reuniting with friends, making new friends and memories with my granddaughter Skylan, student Krista M Hughey, new Connemara enthusiast Megahn Estes, my 28 yr old homebred Foothills River Queen and leased pony, Elderglen's Iriel.

Riding Iriel, Sky placed 5th in her first-ever judged dressage test, scoring a respectable 57%. She was eliminated in stadium because she jumped 13 jumps instead of the course of 12 (one was in the way so they went over it instead of around it:-). She was 2nd in the "pairs over the outside course", Fox division (pictured below), with riding companion Neilly Dosier, and Sky was the Connemara Outside Course Champion and recipient of a fantastic "Hands-On Pottery" mug!

Kris had a nice ride on Queen in her dressage test, but due to a pilot error, dropped to last place in that class. In Kris's good spirits, she said she should have used that test as her free-style, and laughed if off, as she should, because they both did a very nice job for each other.

Sky took the ol'e girl, Queen, in the broodmare class and achieved a yellow ribbon for their efforts.

On Sunday, she showed Iriel in-hand and was 5th in the Sport Pony class and won the Halfbred mare class, earning a lovely Hand-On pottery plate.

It was a super fun weekend and for the "American Connemara" members and subscribers, watch for my article for a full report of the weekend.

When the show was over, some of us were treated to a most delightful tour of the Belle Meade Hunt Kennels, hosted by Judith Wilson.

And before we loaded up to head home, we met our newest FFC her additions, Ruby Red Rocket (a.k.a. Reba), who come home on our extra spot in the trailer:-)

I rode Desi on the Cross-Country Schooling with Francesca at Dry Ridge Farm

Jose Hernandez led our group of 3 riders (plus a youngester in training that he ponied) on a super fun and exhilirating ride through the Holsten River, beginning and ending at the Niceley's Riverplains Farm in Strawberry Plains, TN. I rode Desi, Sharon Cannon rode Keavey ad Sky rode Iriel. August 2021

Sky had a very educational, motivational and memorable time at the 2021 Pony Club Festival at the KY Horse Park, Lexington, KY, where she participated in "D camp" with Elderglen's Iriel. Click the green link to read all about it and many more photos. (July 2021)

Congratulations to Grace Vance on her purchase of Providence Carson!!! She is looking forward to many ride/drive trail adventures with her new Connemara pony!

Well I finally took her to the Battlefield!! Sky rode Keavey and I rode Desi. We had a great time!

We are so happy to have our cherished mare Corner Oak Celtic Star (below right) home from FL!

CoStar is in foal to the recently deceased Ceili Mosi oa Tunya (above left).
We are heartbroken for his owner, Julie Keahey, and are honored to have his last purebred foal on the way.

Brooke and Marit continue strengthening their partnership and skills in eventing. They are really coming along and it is a pleasure watching them learn together.

Congratulations to Kylie Hudson (TN) on her purchase of Piedmont Woodrow! I am so happy that Woody has a family to call is very own.

Thank you, Nancy Kilcrease (Elderglen Farm), for sending me this model of Topgun!! Below is a photo of his sire, *Gun Smoke, on the left (being handled by Mark Burke of Amethyst Acres) and the new Breyer model on the right. How exciting to have part of our breeding program recognized by Breyer:-) May all the Breyer owners be as blessed as I am in achieving their pony dreams!

Sky and Queen concluded their show year at the 11/21 show in McMinn County. They placed in all of their classes and Queen won the SMHSS Unicorn HOTY Award!

What fun it was to watch Brooke and Marit complete their first BN run at the River Glen 2020 Fall Horse Trials. They had an excellent ride in dressage and clean show jumping round, landing them in 3rd place after the first day. A couple rookie mistakes on cross-country dropped them out of the ribbons, but they overall has a really good go. This was the 2nd attempt at a cross-country course for both horse and rider. We are looking forward to more from this up-and-coming pair.

Foothills Farms welcome Breezy back to our Connemara family:-) Here she is riding Desi, her first time back in the saddle at FFC, since 2016.

Congratulations to Sky, who earned her D1 rating on October 31, 2020, and rode in a clinic with Cherie Gaebel, riding Queen. This was her first time cantering (on purpose!)

She also diplayed her beautiful work of art in the costume class going as a pair of Queens (The Queen of hearts and the Queen of clubs [clovers!])

Sky joined the Chattanooga Pony Club in September 2020. Her first outing was a Richard Lamb clinic (Sept 19-20, 2020) at Hunter's Ridge Farm in Ooltewah, TN, riding Foothills River Queen

Well done, Tabitha, riding Carson to his first ribbon in a ridden show (open crossrails) and another successful show for Sky and Queen:-) McMinn County Expo Center 9/5/2020

Congratulations to Virginia Wilson on her purchase of Tullymor's Echota!

Foothills Farms welcome Megahn to our Connemara family. Here she is handling Woody for photos. (Sept 2020)

Congratulations to Sally Reid on her purchase of Foothills Honeysuckle Rose!
